Treat hangovers

A Perfect dish to treat the hangovers

Today I want to introduce a perfect dish to ease the hangovers and also cure the stomach tissue damaged from excessive drinking.

Korea has such a drinking culture and it is common to see people in twenties jamming the bars and clubs at night in Korea. In my case, I always had a burning sensation in the morning whenever I drink alcohols. And many people in twenties complain about similar experience like me.

Some days ago, my dad told me that he also suffered stomach bleeding like me (read about me page) when he was 23years old. (Is it a coincidence? I am also 23 years old.) He told me that he drunk every night in the clubs and bars. And even before he could realize that his stomach was all damaged, he vomited blood and rushed to the hospital. He then stopped drinking and hanging around at night with his colleagues.

My father ended his long story with the typical advice a father can give to his daughter. “Do not drink. You think that drinking is something fascinating because your colleagues are all crazy drinkers.  But it will only harm your stomach more.” Though I found the conversation annoying, because my father talked as if I am addicted to alcohols (I am a christian and I do not drink), it gave me an idea to post about this dish I am going to talk about.

Cabbage and broccoli soup!!! which you can cook easily at home and ease a hangover after excessive drinking.

Cabbages and broccolis are the best ingredient for the stomach. It lowers the formation of gastric juice in our stomach and cures the tiny tissues of stomach which are damaged. The gastric fluid is strong acid and gives burning sensation in our stomach when released too much. Alcohols are really harmful to our stomach because it damages the tissue and make the stomach release too much gastric juice. Therefore eating something soft, warm and greenish will help release the burning sensation in the morning after drinking alcohols.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Vegetable stock
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 200 g of broccoli florets and 200g of cabbage florets
  • some salt
  • drizzle cream, to serve (optional)

Preparation method

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Pour vegetable stock into the pan and add the broccoli and cabbage florets.
  3. Bring to the boil and reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10-12 minutes, until the broccoli and cabbages are tender.
  4. Season with salt then transfer to a liquidizer. Blend until smooth.
  5. Ladle the soup into serving bowls and drizzle with cream to serve.

It takes less than 30 minutes to prepare and all the ingredients easy to get. You will just find them in your kitchen. Try this. It is tasty than you are expecting and it is really helpful when you are feeling something burning in your stomach after being drunk.
